Spoken to Us by the Son

Hi Everyone,

In this sermon Rob preaches from the text Hebrews 1:1-4, and reveals a picture of Jesus as He is in reality, as the God who is, who was and is to come, the Alpha and Omega, who was in the beginning with God. And in these days, the Son of God speaks directly to us, unlike in OT days.

Hebrews 1:1-4 "In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs."

Author and minister Rob Cartledge presents a series of sermons called 'Critical Doctrine', Titus 2:1 "You must teach what is in accord with sound doctrine." Multitudes of professed Christians around the globe are perplexed when it comes to doctrine and clearly articulating their faith. Because of this lack of understanding many Christians are believing the most absurd and heretical beliefs, and due to this we have seen an incredible increase of cultish views even inside of mainstream churches. This Series, Critical Doctrine, is to confront this dilemma with clear and precise teaching on the basic foundational doctrines of our faith.

End Times

Hi Everyone.

In this sermon series Rob studies the events that the Bible reveals, which must take place before the coming of the Lord. This sermon, called 'End Times', reveals the prophetic accuracy of the Bible and looks at current prophecies which are in motion at present and what is still to come.
This sermon is part of a sub-series called 'Eschatology', which is part of the overall umbrella series of 'Ciritical Doctrine'. In this sub-series 'Eschatology' Rob is doing a study of End Times and how it relates to us today.

Mark 13:3-37

As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter, James, John and Andrew asked him privately, “Tell us, when will these things happen? And what will be the sign that they are all about to be fulfilled?”
Jesus said to them: “Watch out that no one deceives you. Many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am he,’ and will deceive many. When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places, and famines. These are the beginning of birth pains.
“You must be on your guard. You will be handed over to the local councils and flogged in the synagogues. On account of me you will stand before governors and kings as witnesses to them. 10 And the gospel must first be preached to all nations. 11 Whenever you are arrested and brought to trial, do not worry beforehand about what to say. Just say whatever is given you at the time, for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit.
12 “Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child. Children will rebel against their parents and have them put to death. 13 Everyone will hate you because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.
14 “When you see ‘the abomination that causes desolation’[a] standing where it[b] does not belong—let the reader understand—then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 15 Let no one on the housetop go down or enter the house to take anything out. 16 Let no one in the field go back to get their cloak. 17 How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! 18 Pray that this will not take place in winter, 19 because those will be days of distress unequaled from the beginning, when God created the world, until now—and never to be equaled again.
20 “If the Lord had not cut short those days, no one would survive. But for the sake of the elect, whom he has chosen, he has shortened them. 21 At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’ or, ‘Look, there he is!’ do not believe it. 22 For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 23 So be on your guard; I have told you everything ahead of time.
24 “But in those days, following that distress,
“‘the sun will be darkened,
    and the moon will not give its light;
25 the stars will fall from the sky,
    and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’[c]
26 “At that time people will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory. 27 And he will send his angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of the heavens.
28 “Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. 29 Even so, when you see these things happening, you know that it[d] is near, right at the door. 30 Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. 31 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

The Day and Hour Unknown

32 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.33 Be on guard! Be alert[e]! You do not know when that time will come. 34 It’s like a man going away: He leaves his house and puts his servants in charge, each with their assigned task, and tells the one at the door to keep watch.
35 “Therefore keep watch because you do not know when the owner of the house will come back—whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or at dawn. 36 If he comes suddenly, do not let him find you sleeping. 37 What I say to you, I say to everyone: ‘Watch!’”

The Wisdom of God

Hi Everyone.

Rob preaches from the text Proverbs 8:22-36, In this section of Proverbs, Solomon by the Spirit is describing who Wisdom is, and you will quickly discover that it is a picture of Jesus Christ Himself. An amazing passage of Scripture.

Proverbs 8:22-36
22 “The Lord brought me forth as the first of his works,[a][b]
    before his deeds of old;
23 I was formed long ages ago,
    at the very beginning, when the world came to be.
24 When there were no watery depths, I was given birth,
    when there were no springs overflowing with water;
25 before the mountains were settled in place,
    before the hills, I was given birth,
26 before he made the world or its fields
    or any of the dust of the earth.
27 I was there when he set the heavens in place,
    when he marked out the horizon on the face of the deep,
28 when he established the clouds above
    and fixed securely the fountains of the deep,
29 when he gave the sea its boundary
    so the waters would not overstep his command,
and when he marked out the foundations of the earth.
30     Then I was constantly[c] at his side.
I was filled with delight day after day,
    rejoicing always in his presence,
31 rejoicing in his whole world
    and delighting in mankind.
32 “Now then, my children, listen to me;
    blessed are those who keep my ways.
33 Listen to my instruction and be wise;
    do not disregard it.
34 Blessed are those who listen to me,
    watching daily at my doors,
    waiting at my doorway.
35 For those who find me find life
    and receive favor from the Lord.
36 But those who fail to find me harm themselves;
    all who hate me love death.”
Series: Truth, Judgment and Eternity - What you hold as true, is it really Truth? Will what you believe get you through on Judgment day? Are you keeping to the pattern of sound teaching held out in Scripture? (2Timothy 1:13) In this series, Truth, Judgment and Eternity, I intend to deliver messages that check the solidness of our Christian Foundation so as to guard the good deposit that was entrusted to us as Christ's Ambassadors on this earth. How Can I Know for Sure?

Hi everyone,

Recently I have had a number of Youtube emails from a fellow Christian Youtuber who asked me the question:

Christian Youtuber

I've been watching some of your videos and have a question, How can I know for sure that I am saved?

My Reply

Thanks for your question.

Romans 10:9-10 tells us, "That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved."

There must be a confession on our lips "Jesus is Lord", this confession will change everything and we will speak for Christ and our speech will be graced with His words. There must also be a change of belief in our heart, which means our life attitude will change and we will walk for Christ each and every day. In other words we will be the Lord's Ambassador and speak on His behalf and serve Him in all that we do, (this does not mean we leave our job and enter active ministry, it means we do our job in the name of Christ.)

If you watch my video "Repent and Sin No More" I believe it encapsulates the Biblical truth in relation to this subject.

There is more to be said on this matter and I would be happy to speak further with you.

Christian Youtuber Reply

Thank you so much for your prompt reply. I live in Atlanta GA USA, and there is so much prosperity gospel and OSAS, once saved always saved, preaching going on here, I am confused. I was saved back when I was about 7 years old, I'm 52 now, and I have always loved and depended on the Lord, but what concerns me is sin. I live a pretty clean life, but I do sin occasionally and it concerns me that it might keep me from entering heaven. I believe that the blood of Jesus is sufficient to cleanse me, but do I have to worry every time I sin. I mean, really, nobody is going from this day forth without sinning. I mean if I did that, somebody would at lease write a book about me. "Bill never Sinned". No, I don't think that's going to happen. Your thoughts?

My Reply

I understand your point and agree with much of what you are saying.

Firstly I would reccomend you watch my video "Repent and Sin No More" as that sermon should give you all the answers you need on this subject.

However, I will add, you are right, none of us have completely stopped sinning, but the difference between True Christians and unbelievers is we have the right to repentance. Now repentance should not be used as a cover for sin, in the sense that we plan to have a big night of sin and then plan to repent the following day. Sin should be rare and not the norm. Repentance means to turn our backs on sin and walk away from it. However, when we do sin, we need to come right back to God in a humble state of repentance and ask for His forgiveness. This act of humility proves that we are His people and it separates us from the world.

The problem I see in the CHurch today is the teaching that no matter what you do, you cannot lose your salvation. This is a warped and watered down version of the truth. Charles Stanley and John McCarthur teach that you can sin all you want and never lose your salvation. But Scripture teaches otherwise, as I point out in my sermon "Once Saved, Always Saved?".

I hope this has helped you. I will be uploading the sermon "Once Saved, Always Saved?" to Youtube.

Bless you abundantly in Christ's wonderful name

Christian Youtuber Reply

Thanks for responding again, I appreciate your insights. But I wanted to share something with you. I was watching Joyce Meyer today and kind of had a breakthrough by something she said. She said, "God is more interested in having a relationship with you than he is interested in making you perfect". I thought "WOW", that really struck a chord in me because I have been totally neglecting my relationship with Him because I'm trying so hard to become perfect, and we both know that ain't going to happen! We cannot perfect ourselves, that's why He went to the cross. So, I'm going to focus on building my relationship with Him, sending my love up to Him and letting Him love me back, the way I am. I trust that building that relationship with Him will make me more like Him. Instead of beating myself up and feeling unworthy and focusing on the negative, I'm going to bask in His love and let it work on me. If I feel like he loves me and approves of me, I can let that love shine to others, instead of feeling defeated and negative all the time.

My Reply

We were never discussing perfection, we were discussing the sin nature. It is vitally important that you don't equate turning your back on sin and walking in holiness as striving for a perfection which cannot be attained. If you do that, then you will stop striving to walk as Christ walked and settle into accepting the promptings of the sin nature and responding to it.

He. 12:14 "Without holiness no-one will see the Lord."
Holiness is an an evidence of being a true Christian, and if God is dealing with you on this issue I think that is something you must not reject just because it makes you feel uncomfortable.

We must be very careful of anyone who comes along and helps you to feel comfortable in your sin. It's obvious to me that God is dealing with you on this issue, yet you say, "Instead of beating myself up and feeling unworthy and focusing on the negative," you see it as a negative, but God calls all men to repentance, and that is a gift that you should treasure. And to put it bluntly, "we are unworthy", no one is worthy is salvation, we are all wretched in our sin state, yet now we are saved, we are to be new creatures in Christ, walking in holiness and filled with the Spirit of God.

The Word of God is clear, "Unless you repent you to will perish." Do not despise God's dealings with you but see it as a blessing from above. I know Christians who claim to have incredible relationships with Jesus, yet they are chronic sinners, getting drunk all the time, getting stoned, sleeping around, watching porn, the Word tells us "That those who live like this will not inherit the Kingdom of God."

The modern gospel focus' entirely on the consecration which is received when we first accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour. We are absolutely clean at slavation "IF" we repent and turn our backs on our old life. But this modern gospel puts nearly no emphasis upon walking in holiness by being filled with the Spirit daily and turning our backs on the sin nature, therefore the modern church is dreadfully sinful and corrupt. This is why Paul and Peter etc so often list off sins in their letters and tell the believers to walk away from all such things. see Ephesians 4:22-32, Colossians 3:8-10 and there are other places.

Ep. 4:17 So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking.

Paul is speaking to Church abiding believers, and he is focussing upon the sins which they still commit and tells them to stop involving themselves in them. He tells them to get to the work of resisting the sin nature. Now you think that is beating yourself up and focussing on the negative, yet true repentance is edifying and releasing, it sets you free and enables you to walk in the Spirit, because without repentance the Holy Spirit will not fill you and use you.

Please watch the videos "Repent and Sin No More" and "Does Jesus Know You" as well as "Once Saved, Always Saved???" they will be the 3 most liberating sermons in your Christian walk.

I hope this blog has helped you as I'm sure this Youtuber is not alone in his situation.

Blessings to you all
Rob

Mind's Set Above

Hi Everyone.

Rob Preaches from the Colossians 3:1-10, and expounds on the importance of having our minds set on heavenly things.

Colossians 3:1-10 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died,and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your[a] life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature:sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming.[b] You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.

King James Only Debate

James White debates Jack Moorman on whether the KJV is superior to modern translations due to the manuscripts used. This debate was very informative and brilliantly presented.

I believe that this video should be viewed by all those Christians who have been affected by the King James Only subject.
