This extract comes from chapter 1 of my book 'God's Heart Cry for Revival', and it speaks to how the Church in general is failing in getting the tangible presence of God in the House. This is a foundational issue, and needs Spirit led correction to see it corrected.
Floundering Church
The current universal Church of Christianity is floundering, mainly because we have not succeeded in getting God’s presence into the Church and into the communities round about us. If we are going to restore power to the Church and bring the holy fear of God to the world, we have to lay hold of the presence of God. World wide Christianity needs a revival, it needs Joel 2:28-29.
The Need for Revival
Charles Finney, the 19th Century Apostle of Revival said, “Without a revival, sinners will grow harder despite preaching. Your children and your friends will remain unsaved if there are no revivals to convert them.” 3 We need a revival, a true revival, because every second someone around the world dies not knowing Jesus. If the Church universal does not rise up and reach God, how are we going to pull back this death count, this hell count?
True Revival
We need a true revival not just a Church refreshing. When the Church repents en-masse, that is a refreshing, or a Church awakening, or a Church revival or an in-house revival. But when it breaks out into the community round about her, it’s a community revival, or an awakening, a true revival. A true revival is what the unsaved are waiting for; it is what they truly desire deep in their spirit and soul. I believe if the unsaved encounter the living God for real, His divine presence will convict and convert even the most hardened atheist.
